ABOVE HELL'S KITCHEN to play at NYMF

Riley McMahon

New York, NY – Above Hell’s Kitchen, Spottiswoode’s gothic dream play/musical set in a therapist’s loft apartment and based loosely on Mozart’s Don Giovanni, has been selected for the 2010 New York Musical Theater Festival. It is one of only twelve projects chosen from about four hundred entries to be part of NYMF’s Next Link Series.

“Holy Oklahoma!” said the Englishman at the Russian Baths. “Now we have to perform six full stagings of this godforsaken piece of self-indulgence! We’ll have to assemble and exploit dozens of talented people, beg for money from everyone including the Greek government, rehearse our backsides into collective numbness, and then get eggs thrown at us. My Enemies already hate me anyway.”

Recent NYMF highlights include the Pulitzer Prizewinning Next To Normal, Yank, and several other recent Broadway shows.

Enemies HQ will continue to pepper the blogosphere throughout the summer. Funds will be raised, personnel recruited, and songs will be sung. Stay tuned for the onslaught.

The Festival takes place in the early fall.
