New York, NY – Spottiswoode’s feature script, THE LONG WALK, has gained the strong interest of Sundance director, Matthew Bonifacio (LBs., AMEXICANO) and Cesar-nominated actress, Audrey Dana (ROMAN DE GARE). The project is currently in development.
Short Synopsis
A black mother, a Jewish fiancé, a Bangladeshi boy and the spoiled daughter of a Greek tycoon all collide one night in New York City and cross over to the next chapter in their lives.
Long Synopsis
On one Friday night in New York City four people are tested. Having just passed out from food poisoning, ANDREW must walk from the Lower East Side to the Upper West Side and thus satisfy a commitment he has made to his Orthodox fiancée that he will obey the laws of the Sabbath. NIKI storms out of her father’s wedding reception in Queens and goes on a tear through Manhattan as she comes to terms with the need to make peace with her family. TINA takes CAROL to a jazz club and must decide how far she will go to help Carol, a black mother, end her fifteen years of celibacy. MOHAMMUD, a Bangladeshi cab driver, picks up his wide-eyed nephew at the airport and soon finds out that he needs to chaperone the young boy for the rest of the night…
